Ken Hirshey

I must tell you. I feel like I have lost a son.
He is in bondage and cannot seem to be able or willing to turn to the Lord and seek Him.
Brandon’s relationship with drugs has torn him apart, terminated our relationship, and broken our hearts.
As John Eldridge says, We need to protect our hearts. Dena and mine is just crushed.
He may have to hit rock bottom before he gets it.

Thanks

Ken

Request by Frank in Tulsa

I also wanted to put out a prayer request for one of our Journey brothers, actually he is more than a journey brother he is my brother-in-law who is going through a huge family issue right now. I ask that you guys think of Jonathan and my little sister and family. They are in the beginning stages of attempting to save their family and marriage. Thanks again for all that you do and be blessed.

Joe Pleasant died

One of our Tulsa Journey brothers, Joe Pleasant, died today after an 8 year fight with Hepatitis and 3 liver transplants. He was a Marine and a fighter, but he also loved Jesus with all his heart. Please pray for his wife, Stacy, who has stood faithfully by his side and has made everyone feel welcome to join Joe's journey. He has a college-aged son, Caleb, and two seventh grade twins, Jacob and Dawson. Joe was 47.

Logan Armstrong

For the Armstrong's:
Here it is about 8:15am Wed morning and I just received a phone call from Shohn and Suzy Armstrong. They are requesting prayers for their son Logan as he is going to have knee surgery this morning. I was kind of shocked about this since I just very recently gave them the name of the doctor I am seeing for my knee troubles. Turns out he needs the knee surgery and needs to have it soon (thus today) if he is going to have any chance to be ready for next years football season. In talking to the Armstrong's, they seemed a little nervous so I asked them about this and Shohn said he is always nervous when it comes to the anesthesia.
They will text message me when things are happening and I will try to get a follow-up report out later this afternoon. Until then, please lift them up in prayer and pray for comfort for both the parents and Logan. Let us also pray for a successful surgery and for a steady hand and mind for Dr Jeff Fox.

Michael

I found out yesterday that a friend of mine’s brother was seriously hurt in a car accident and is currently in Intensive Care. His name is Michael. He has suffered severe injuries to his body from the accident. Basically, everything below his waist was crushed. Please pray that the Lord will use his supernatural healing powers on Michael and that He will give the doctors the wisdom they need to repair the damage done to his body. Also pray for comfort and peace for Michael and his family. I don’t know Michael personally and don’t know whether he is a Christian or not but he needs our prayers. Michael lives in Nags Head, NC.

Your brother in Christ,

Mark D.

Emory Hood

Please post this prayer for Emory Hood. Emory is the son of my supervisor at work.

http://www.caringbridge.org/ok/emoryhood/index.htm

Emory Hood was diagnosed with T-cell ALL in August 2003. He relapsed while still on maintenance chemo in April 2005. He received a bone marrow transplant in Houston at Texas Children's Hospital in June 2005. His beautiful sister, Sydney, was a perfect match and his donor. He did great until June 2007, when, during his routine 2-year post-transplant testing, his doctors found signs of a very early relapse. He received 5 days of chemo and then an infusion of Sydney's lymphocytes. He remained cancer-free until February 2008, when his leukemia returned. On April 10, 2008 Emory received a second bone marrow transplant, this time using his mother's stem cells. Pray and think God thoughts!

Erik Fender

Our son Erik is serving with the Army and has been in Iraq since the beginning of September. He’s a vehicle mechanic and is based at Camp Stryker near the Baghdad Airport. He called me on Monday to tell me that he’s going “outside the wire” to a dangerous area for the next few weeks. Please pray for his continued safety and that he would bring his fellow soldiers to Christ.

Brother's in arms,I've been getting the letters from Pete, now the emails & am excited to see the growth from just the 2 yrs. prior, when I attended groups in the O.C. when I first moved back from Vail to So. Cal.I now live in San Diego, Coronado to be specific, and attend a great little family/military church, Coastal Life Christian Church. I'm asking for your prayers reguarding several matters, spiritually, physically, and materially.

A) Pray for self-discipline & motivation as I am weening off sodas/Coke, and starting a nutrition, excercise, weight-loss program over the next 30 days.

B) Pray for finances & the right transportation vehicle to be brought across my path, as I had to get rid/sell my unreliable Explorer 3-4 wks. ago, and w/ my business, 'mobile massage,' it's hard to utilize public transportation efficiently!

C) Pray for Patience & persistance in finding the perfect commercial space, for the right price/rent, location & ammenities to practice my private massage clientel; along with guidance and decernment in choosing the proper business partners/therapists to work along side.

D) Last, but most importantly, I haven't really connected with men of substanance, especially in the church or that are Christian/Spiritual since I've been back in So. Cal. Nothing wrong w/ men w/ families, wives, girlfriends, etc., but there's a need for 'non-attatched' single guys to get together & discuss challenges of singles out there. I NEVER seem to fit into anyone's 'Family' or 'Dating' schedule w/o feeling like I'm imposing, the 3rd wheel or just another number if it's a big group. Advise, please, if you can assist. Thank you so very much for your time, consideration & most of all, prayer, reguarding these personal matters.

With brotherly love & wishes for Great Health,
Jeffery Pollock, NCTMB

Ed Stevens

Please continue praying for me and my wife, whose dementia is getting worse. I have about 10 hours per week when I can do things besides care for her - medications, nutrition, grooming, etc. But she can still go with me to church and other functions.

Brian Harmon

I have been attending the Friday and Wednesday Influencers meetings for a year or two, and I have been diagnosed with cancer in my left rear thigh. It is a Sarcoma, which are seldom life-threatening. I have been in for two weeks of full-time chemo treatments with two weeks of rest in between. It looks like the cancer is dying and I am having mild side-effects, just hiccups now! We may have one more week of chemo before radiation and surgery, but that is yet to be determined.

Pray that the therapy will continue to work and that surgery will successfully remove the cancer with limited destruction of leg tissue.

Thanks,

Brian

Ronald Hough

God has always been there for me and my wife - but we all can be very impatient - I have resigned to being retired early at 61 - yes I have some University Business classes I teach but that is not enough and some temp accounting work - my wife's work is very, very fustrating, depressing and etc. even though she works for a small Christian organization.

Our prayer - For me: flexible part-time work 20-30 hours a week: Accounting and/or Teaching and for my wife to be offered a new job working with people having excellent work ethics, good benefits and etc.!!

Thank you all for your prayers!!

A fellow Influencer

George Hatchard

Please pray for my father-in-law, George Hatchard (many of you know
him as Ole George from Emmaus and/or the Friday worship service).
George is in the hospital with pneumonia. His physical health does not seem that serious, but George is 88 years old and seriously depressed. Please pray for relief of his depression (and self pity) as well as his physical health and the skill and perseverance of doctors and nurses.
Blessings,
John Allen
